A standard Hollywood practice is for aspiring TV-writers to write an episode script for a current, relevant show as a writing sample and calling-card of sorts.  I, however, did not do that exactly.  Instead, I wrote a script for the “The Andy Griffith Show” injecting the classic, wholesome show with a more biting edge.

In my episode “MAYBERRY LIVES MATTER,” an unarmed black man is shot and murdered by Barney Fife.  And while the ever-moral Sheriff Andy Griffith knows Barney to be guilty, he’s celebrated by the rest of the town.  Will Andy tell the truth and be the hero Mayberry needs?  READ THE FULL SCRIPT HERE and find out for yourself.
